Continuum

Music: John Mayer, gotta love this guy! But why Jessica Simpson... ewww! Favourite song is Slow Dancing in a Burning Room, definitely! And here's a really good quote I found, from the man himself!:
"Life is like a box of crayons. Most people are the 8-color boxes, but what you're really looking for are the 64-color boxes with the sharpeners on the back. I fancy myself to be a 64-color box, though I've got a few missing. It's ok though, because I've got some more vibrant colors like periwinkle at my disposal. I have a bit of a problem though in that I can only meet the 8-color boxes. Does anyone else have that problem? I mean there are so many different colors of life, of feeling, of articulation.. so when I meet someone who's an 8-color type.. I'm like, "hey girl, magenta!" and she's like, "oh, you mean purple!" and she goes off on her purple thing, and I'm like, "no - I want magenta!"”

Western, good. Nothing really happening, same old I guess. Not too much work yet, but I have my first exam in a couple of weeks. Business is a good course, but it sucks because all of the major work in the course (and there's a lot) falls in the only times I have a break! So stressful.

Reading week is coming up! Well, not too soon, but soon enough I guess. I have big plans so I'm very excited. Two of my friends and I are going to see John Mayer in Syracuse! We have the tickets and I am stoked! I love John Mayer! Plus I might go to Switchfoot with my friend... she was going to go with her boyfriend but they broke up and now she needs someone to go with... not sure about that one yet though! But! In March some of my friends and I are going to see Snow Patrol and OKGO... that's going to be wicked!

So, heading back to the Bellevegas this weekend, yay! Actually, it's not so yay, because I have to do some bank stuff, but I think I'm going to get to play some bingo! I haven't played in so long, it's going to be so fun!

Music: Radiohead! Good stuff. My current favourite song is Karma Police, what a stellar tune!

Yeah, I don't really have anything to say, but I haven't updated in a while so I decided I would.

School is a lot of work, right now at least, I just handed in two essays, and I have an exam tomorrow and another essay due Tuesday... good news is that's it for all of my classes except French until exam time.

Missed Halloween weekend because I had to go home for ortho, and missed Halloween because I had a crapload of work, which I did all afternoon and night except for the break I took to watch The Nightmare Before Christmas... it was the first movie in our floor's movie marathon... they progressively got scarier. Anyway, it was mostly not so fun.

Okay, so now I actually have to get my crap together so I'm ready for my exam tomorrow and started on my history essay... primary source analysis, it's the first one I've ever done. Gah.

And I'm out.

Cheer Up

Good ol' xanga..

..always here, even when MSN is being a butt and not letting anyone on.

Music: Today- Reel Big Fish!! I've discovered that I absolutely love ska! I really, honestly do! This album does what its title implies it will do, at least for me. The great thing about ska is that it sounds so happy, even when it's not.

School: good, different. I don't know, my program isn't as exciting as Sarah's sounds, but my classes are interesting... other than french, and my teachers are cool... other than business. The rez experience is wild, especially having over 1200 other people in the building. Luckily my floor is pretty quiet, and I have a single room, so when the time comes for the hardcore work, I'll be able to do it in relative peace.

Hmm, not much else to say! Kerri, happy birthday, sorry I wasn't there, my train was way late, it really sucked! And Caitie! We left earlier than planned, a whole night of travel that was just... less than fun. And man, Allix, do I ever miss you and your hilarity! We'll hang out over thanksgiving though, because I was your first friend and we owe it to each other! Hopefully I'll see everyone else on thanksgiving too!

Mel's Music Corner: I don't know if anyone's heard of this band, they're progressive metal, not bad. It seemed like an appropriate album for this time of year.

So, here I am at university, after a long summer taking care of other people's kids for weeks at a time. The summer was long and short. I lived for the one day off I got in a week, because I got to see people and sleep in my own bed, but by the end I was surprised it was already over. Anyway, I don't think anything too eventful happened to me in the great metropolis of Lyndhurst, ON. There was really nothing to do except go for ice cream and check out the circa-80's merch at Wing's Live Bait.

And that brings me here. Nothing much to report yet, I start classes on Thursday. Apparently this is a 'dry' week, so we're having god clean fun. Last night there was an ice cream party and a midnight tour... this campus is freaking huge!!

For now, I think that's all.
